A woman was charged with criminal mischief after she was found pouring black paint over the “Black Lives Matter” mural located outside of Trump Tower in New York City on Saturday.
Bevelyn Beatty, a member of Christian nonprofit organization At The Well Ministries, was pulled away by officers with the New York City Police Department while she attempted to destroy the words written on the pavement.
“They do it for black people, right? Black Lives Matter. Black Lives Matter but you want to defund the police for black people,” Beatty said.
She added, “No. They’re lying. We’re not standing with Black Lives Matter. We want our police. Refund our police! Refund our police!”

Beatty was given a desk appearance ticket and released by authorities.
Former Police Commissioner Bernard B. Kerik took to Twitter to respond to the incident.
He claimed the mural was created by Marxists.
“They’re exactly right! The mural was created by a Marxist mayor, the [Black Lives Matters] founders are trained Marxists, inspired by a Marxist cop killer, and have a Marxist revolutionary convicted of possessing 640 pounds of explosives fundraising for them,” Kerik said.

He later turned his attention to New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) calling him a “thug.”
“[Bill de Blasio] Why is it that the NYPD was ordered to stand down for [Black Lives Matter] thugs that engage in arson and looting, but anyone that goes near your [Black Lives Matter] mural gets locked up. You are nothing but a thug yourself,” Kerik said.

De Blasio and Rev. Al Sharpton joined others in painting the mural on July 9, as IJR previously reported.
This was not the first time a “Black Lives Matter” mural was vandalized.
Two people in Martinez, California were caught on camera painting over a “Black Lives Matter” mural on July 6, as IJR previously reported.
