President Donald Trump is accusing presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden of avoiding the media and refusing to take questions.
During a phone interview on “Fox & Friends” Monday, Trump was asked about the critical stance on campaign etiquette that suggests election candidates refrain from campaigning during opposing party conventions.
According to Trump, he has “no choice” but to campaign due to the “fake media in this country.” He also criticized Biden as he insisted that the former vice president “doesn’t come out of his basement” and “hasn’t taken one question.”
Trump insisted he is regularly confronted by reporters who have “fire coming out of their eyes.”
He added, “Somebody like Biden, he doesn’t know what to do. He doesn’t come out because he can’t. He doesn’t take any questions from reporters. I keep saying to my people, ‘Here I am getting bombs thrown at me every day by people that are totally, frankly dishonest reporters.’”
The president went on to compare his exchanges with the media to Biden’s, claiming he faces “bombs every day.”
He continued, “They are espousing the view of the radical left, but here I am, bombs every day and every day and I do a good job handling it, that’s why my polls have gone up 10 or 12 points.”

Trump also falsely claimed Biden has not answered questions “in months” as he raised questions about Biden’s capability to conduct an interview.
“Somebody said yesterday — I don’t know if this is so — but he hasn’t answered one question in months, and you really say, can he?” Trump added.
Despite the president’s claims, Biden has conducted several interviews over the last few months although he has opted to limit public appearances due to the coronavirus outbreak. In fact, Biden actually sat down for an Elle Magazine interview.
Two weeks ago, Biden also made headlines after a testy exchange during a CBS News interview, as previously reported on IJR.
However, he has not responded to Chris Wallace’s request for a Fox News interview. Not deterred, Wallace said in late July that he will “keep asking.” Biden’s last interview on “Fox News Sunday” was in March.
