Former First Lady Michelle Obama is sympathizing with the American people.

The former first lady offered her thoughts about the first presidential debate that played out on Tuesday night, which consisted of a lot of interrupting and clashing between President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

“If you were turned off by the President’s behavior last night, I feel you,” Obama wrote on Instagram Wednesday. “Believe me, I do.”

She continued, “But we can’t let him win by tuning out altogether. That’s what he wants. So turn those feelings into action — turn them into votes for my friend, [Joe Biden].”

“It’s the only way we can get out of this chaos and restore some stability to this country.”

Obama encouraged the American people to reach out “to everyone you know” and “make sure they’re registered,” know how to vote and that they cast their ballot.

“Because in this election, we’ve got to vote for Joe in numbers that cannot be denied,” she added.

Obama is not alone in expressing disappointment after Tuesday night’s debate. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she “lost a lot of sleep last night” after the debate and Biden claimed Trump’s behavior was “a national embarrassment.”

Republicans also weighed in after the debate, including Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) who called it an “embarrassment” as well and Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) called it a “sh*t show.”

Additionally, a post-debate poll by CBS News showed 48% of those who watched said Biden won the debate while Trump garnered 41% in the poll.

So how did Senate Republicans think the debate went?

"Shit show." — @BenSasse
"Embarrassment." — @MittRomney
"Awful." — @lisamurkowski
"Rough." — @SenCapito
"I was actually watching the yankees." — @SenatorRounds
"Might have needed an adult time out." — @SenatorBraun

However, despite disapproval by many of the debate, Trump offered his own thoughts telling reporters outside of the White House on Wednesday, “By every measure, we won the debate easily last night. I think [Biden] was very weak. He looked weak, he was whining.”
