Trump and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19 early on Friday morning, as IJR reported. Later in the day, he was transferred to Walter Reed for observation.

But, just three days later, he tweeted that he would be returning to the White House and that he feels “better than I did 20 years ago!”

I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M. Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!

His physician Dr. Sean Conley said the president was “not entirely out of the woods yet,” however, he said the president’s condition had improved since Friday.

“The team and I agree that all our evaluations and most importantly his clinical status support the president’s safe return home, where he’ll be surrounded by world-class medical care 24/7,” Conley said.

Around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Trump was seen walking out of Walter Reed wearing a mask. He flashed a thumbs-up but did not answer questions from reporters who had gathered outside.

When Trump announced that he would be leaving Walter Reed, he encouraged Americans to not “be afraid of Covid.”

“Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge,” he added.

After he returned to the White House, reporters noted that the president removed his mask after stepped off Marine One.

Trump’s plan to return to the campaign trail comes just 28 days before election day, and as polls show Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is leading him in several key swing states.

And an average of national polls by RealClearPolitics finds that Biden has a 8.5 point lead over Trump.
