Former President Barack Obama (D) sat down with CBS News’ Gayle King to respond to President Donald Trump’s frequent criticisms of him.

“Donald Trump often raises eyebrows when he says he’s done more for Black America and people of color,” King said.

“Yes. Yes, it does raise eyebrows, you are correct!” Obama replied.

King asked Obama if he takes Trump’s comments as an insult to himself or the things he accomplished while he was in office.

“I think it’s fair to say that there are many things he says that I do not take personally or seriously, although I think they can often be destructive and harmful,” Obama said.

Watch his remarks below:

Trump suggested Obama was campaigning for him while he was on the campaign trail for President-elect Joe Biden, as IJR previously reported.

“Obama is campaigning for us. Every time he speaks, people come over to our side. He didn’t even want to endorse Sleepy Joe. Did so long after primaries were over!” Trump wrote in a Twitter post.

On the campaign trail, Obama accused Trump of being “jealous of COVID’s media coverage,” as IJR previously reported.

He also criticized the president for threatening to fire Dr. Anthony Fauci if he were reelected.

“They’ve already said they’re not going to contain the pandemic. Now they want to fire the one person who can actually help them contain the pandemic,” Obama said.

The former president torched Trump’s Republican colleagues for failing to speak out against his allegations of widespread voter fraud.

“That has been disappointing. But, it’s been sort of par for the course during these four years,” Obama said.

He continued, “They obviously didn’t think there was any fraud going on cause they didn’t say anything for two days.”

Trump again refused to concede the election on Sunday.
