President-elect Joe Biden says he and his team have already begun working with members of the Trump administration to coordinate the transition process.

On Monday night, Emily Murphy, the head of the Government Services Administration (GSA), told Biden that she had determined he was the “apparent” winner of the election. That determination freed up funds and access to buildings and government officials typically afforded to incoming presidents to assist with the transition process.

In an interview with NBC News that aired on Tuesday night, Biden said that administration officials did not hesitate to reach out after Murphy’s announcement.

“Immediately, we’ve gotten outreach from the national security shop to just across the board,” Biden said, adding, “And they’re already working out my ability to get presidential daily briefs.”

He continued, “We’re already working out meeting with the Covid team in the White House and how to not only distribute but get from a vaccine being distributed to a person able to get vaccinated, so I think we’re gonna not be so far behind the curve as we thought might be in the past.”

He added, “And I must say the outreach has been sincere — it has not been begrudging so far, and I don’t expect it to be.”

After the GSA announced it had determined Biden is the winner of the election, Trump took to Twitter to signal that he is not ready to concede.

He wrote, “What does GSA being allowed to preliminarily work with the Dems have to do with continuing to pursue our various cases on what will go down as the most corrupt election in American political history?

“We are moving full speed ahead. Will never concede to fake ballots [and] ‘Dominion,'” he added.

While Murphy said her decision does not mean that Biden is the official winner of the election, she said, “I have determined that you may access the post-election resources and services described in Section 3 of the Act upon request.”

She added that she made the decision “independently, based on the law and available facts.”
