Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) is not pleased with the Republican Party after some lawmakers reportedly gave Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) a standing ovation for apologizing for her previous controversial comments.
“It was disappointing by a factor of 1,000… I don’t like to reveal a ton of conference details, but she stood up and kind of gave a bit of contriteness, but then it pivoted to, ‘They’re coming after you next,'” Kinzinger said during an appearance on CNN’s “New Day” Thursday.
He added, “Obviously I had a huge problem with all of that, but the ‘they,’ being the Democrats, I think if you’re not buying into Jewish space lasers and false flag operations and QAnon stuff, to think that they’re just going to come after you next, I think is way a bridge too far.”
Host John Berman pressed Kinzinger on what specifically was disappointing to him.
“To see people at the end of it just be all-in on Marjorie Taylor Greene… I get it, she’s a Republican in your mind and you want to defend her but my goodness, look at what’s been said,” Kinzinger explained.

During a House GOP conference meeting on Wednesday, Greene apologized for her past comments and promotion of the QAnon conspiracy theory.
She reportedly rejected knowing about Jewish space lasers and doubled down on her claims previous school shootings were staged.
Berman asked Kinzinger how he plans to vote on whether to remove Greene from her committee assignments.
“I intend to vote for it. The only thing that could change is if today she comes out and publicly shows that she has moved on, contriteness,” Kinzinger said.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) slammed House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) for failing to strip Greene of her committee assignments, as IJR reported.
“McCarthy’s failure to lead his party effectively hands the keys over to Greene – an anti-Semite, QAnon adherent and 9/11 Truther,” she said in a statement on Wednesday.
Greene told The Washington Examiner that Democrats are “helping her” by voting to remove her from her committees, as IJR reported.
“I’m pretty amazed at how dumb they are,” Greene said.
