White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is promoting Dr. Anthony Fauci’s use of the social media platform Snapchat as a part of a social media campaign to push young people to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

During a White House press briefing on Monday, Psaki noted Google is providing information on its home page to help people find a location where they can get the vaccine. Facebook and Twitter are also sending notifications to users about their eligibility to receive the vaccine.

“As well as even a Snapchat message from Dr. Fauci… never too young to Snapchat, too old, too young, either way,” Psaki said.

According to Axios, officials will be doing interviews with Telemundo and All Ag News and radio host Rickey Smiley to reach constituents who may be hesitant to receive the vaccine including Latino and Black communities as well as conservatives.

Fauci, Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy and assistant HHS secretary Rachel Levine will also be doing targeted local and radio interviews.

The president will film a direct-to-camera public service announcement which will be distributed through digital platforms and Vice President Kamala Harris will participate in publicity through social media as well as an interview with the Carolina Peacemaker, a North Carolina African American community weekly newspaper.

On Sunday, data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed just more than half of American adults had received at least one dose of the vaccine.

The nation had administered 209,406,814 doses of the vaccine as of Sunday morning and distributed 264,505,725 doses.

More than 566,000 Americans have lost their lives to the coronavirus.
