Jennifer Weisselberg, the former daughter-in-law of the Chief Financial Officer of the Trump Organization, Allen Weisselberg, predicts the company will “absolutely” shut down.
Allen Weisselberg reportedly surrendered to the Manhattan district attorney’s office after grand jury indictments were secured. He surrendered early Thursday. The charges against the organization and Allen Weisselberg are expected to be “unsealed later in the day in New York State Supreme Court.”
The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday the organization and Allen Weisselberg are expected to be charged with tax-related crimes.
Trump himself is not expected to be charged. People familiar with the matter said the “Trump Organization and Allen Weisselberg are expected to face charges related to allegedly evading taxes on fringe benefits.”
CNN’s Erica Hill asked Jennifer Weisselberg on Thursday, “So nothing happened without Allen Weisselberg’s knowledge?”
Jennifer Weisselberg replied, “I think he liked to control everything.”
When asked what she thinks the long term impact will be on the Trump organization, Jennifer Weisselberg said, “I don’t think there’s been anything legal that’s been going on there. I think it will be shut down.”
She reiterated she “absolutely” believes it will be shut down.

Hill noted during the show Jennifer Weisselberg has been cooperating with prosecutors and mentioned documents from her divorce in 2017 showing financial transactions from Allen Weisselberg to her family for payments for things including rent, cars, and private school tuition.
She asked Jennifer Weisselberg, “Is there anything specifically in those documents that you turned over that you believe may have contributed to this indictment.”
