Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) claimed Google “chose the winner” of the 2020 presidential election by changing its algorithm “to disadvantage Donald Trump.”

Buck, the top Republican on the House Antitrust Committee, argued, “Google, by the way, changed its algorithm in May 2020 to disadvantage Donald Trump and to advantage Joe Biden.”

He added, “When you ask them about this … they say, ‘Oh, that’s just a technical thing. We don’t know what the result was. We just know that a technical person did this.’ Nonsense, they chose the winner.”

He argued “by changing the algorithm, you can flip 15 million votes.”

Buck went on, “So you talk to people, you know, at conservative publications and what they’ll tell you is the day after that algorithm went into effect, their readership went down.”

He explained they would not have a congressional investigation because Democrats control the House and Senate.

Still, Buck said, “We will win the majority, and we will hold hearings on this very issue in 2023, and that happens before the 2024 election.”

He issued a warning to Democrats who are hesitant to take on Big Tech during an interview with Fox News on Wednesday, saying they should be “scared to death about censorship.”

“If what they say is displeasing to these corporate executives, they will be censored also. And so you see a bipartisan effort in Congress to make sure that we have more competition and hold these big tech companies accountable,” Buck said.

Trump announced he is suing Facebook, Twitter, and Google on Wednesday after the platforms banned him or prohibited him from posting.

“Our case will prove this censorship is unlawful, unconstitutional, and completely un-American,” Trump said.

He added, “If they can do it to me, they can do it to anyone.”
