Caitlyn Jenner is speaking out in support of Texas after the state received backlash for its new abortion law.

“I am for a woman’s right to choose. I am also for a state having the ability to make their own laws,” Jenner said during an interview with CNN’s “New Day” on Tuesday.

She added, “So I support Texas in that decision, that’s their decision… But as far as being a woman’s right to choose, I don’t see any changes in our laws in California in the future.”

CNN’s Brianna Keilar pressed Jenner, asking, “But you’re fine with the Texas law? Even though you say that you support abortion rights, you are fine with a law that essentially outlaws abortion?”

Jenner replied, “I think that they have the right in their state to do what they want to do. Now do I agree with the decision or not? No. To be honest with you I actually probably do not agree with the decision. But I agree that they do have the right to make their own decision.”

Last week, the Supreme Court refused to block the law banning all abortions after six weeks. The decision was criticized by several, including President Joe Biden.

Attorney General Merrick Garland announced on Monday the Department of Justice is exploring “all options” to challenge the law, as IJR reported.

He added, “We will continue to protect those seeking to obtain or provide reproductive health services pursuant to our criminal and civil enforcement of the FACE Act.”

Garland said the department will “provide support from federal law enforcement when an abortion clinic or reproductive health center is under attack. We have reached out to U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and FBI field offices in Texas and across the country to discuss our enforcement authorities.”
