Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) had a record-breaking fundraising quarter.

Paul, who is pursing a third term, reports that he raised over $4 million in the third quarter of 2021.

“MASSIVE!” Paul wrote in a tweet this week, along with the announcement.

He added, “We’re in this fight to win and we will thanks to you and the more than 150,000 grassroots supporters who’ve donated this year just like you!”

Year-to-date, Paul has raised over $9 million and has $7 million left on hand, according to the Washington Examiner. Combined with his Kentucky Freedom PAC, Paul has $12 million on hand in total, the Examiner reports.

Senior advisor Sergio Gor told the Examiner, “Sen. Rand Paul remains the leading voice against government overreach and massive wasteful spending in Washington. Voters in Kentucky agree and have shown their support in record numbers.”

MASSIVE! We just had a RECORD-BREAKING fundraising quarter with more than $4M raised in the last 3 months!

Paul’s deputy campaign manager Jake Cox called the fundraising haul “a strong sign that Kentuckians want to see Dr. Paul return to the Senate in 2022,” according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.

The Kentucky senator is facing a potential Democratic challenger, Charles Booker, in the 2022 midterm elections. Booker raised $1.7 million since the start of the quarter.

We are going to beat Rand Paul for half the price.

It won’t even be close. https://t.co/S0qhmufxOz

A poll conducted earlier this year found Paul well-positioned to win reelection in 2022, according to NBC’s LEX18.

As the Lexington Herald-Leader notes, “Kentucky has not elected a Democrat to the U.S. Senate since Wendell Ford in 1992.”
