Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not leaving Ukraine’s capital of Kyiv amid Russia’s invasion of the country, saying he is “not hiding.”

Zelenskyy posted a video on Monday showing the view of Kyiv from his office.

“I am in Kyiv. My team is with me,” Zelenskyy said.

He later added, “Now I will say one thing: I stay here. I stay in Kyiv, on Bankova Street. I’m not hiding. And I’m not afraid of anyone.”

Concluding his message, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the military and the armed forces of Ukraine.

“Our gratitude is boundless,” Zelenskyy said.

Additionally, Zelenskyy spoke with “World News Tonight” anchor David Muir Monday evening. He explained President Joe Biden could do more to help.

“Many things depend not just on us,” Zelenskyy said. “Today, the war is here. Tomorrow, it will be in Lithuania, then in Poland, then in Germany. This is serious.”

When asked about concerns surrounding a no-fly zone, Zelenskyy responded, “You have to preserve lives.”

He added, “We will come first, you will come second, because the more this beast will eat, he wants more, more and more.”

Politico reported Biden has decided to ban Russian oil imports, citing a person familiar with the matter. According to the White House, Biden will speak Tuesday morning to announce “actions to continue to hold Russia accountable for its unprovoked and unjustified war on Ukraine.”

NBC News reported Biden is in talks with Poland to possibly provide Soviet-era fighter jets to Ukraine, citing a White House spokesperson.

“We are working with the Poles on this issue and consulting with the rest of our NATO allies,” the spokesperson said.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said during a news conference the United States is “looking actively now at the question of airplanes that Poland may provide to Ukraine and looking at how we might be able to backfill should Poland decide to . . . supply those planes.”

He added, “How quickly might that happen? I can’t speak to a timeline.”
