Former President Donald Trump says Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should be stripped of their royal titles.
According to a transcript released by the Sun of Trump’s forthcoming interview with Piers Morgan, the former president mocked Harry over his relationship with Markle.
“I’m not a fan of Meghan, and I wasn’t from the beginning. Poor Harry is being led around by his nose,” Trump said.
He called Harry an “embarrassment.”
Morgan took issue with the couple over their decision to “quit the country, they quit royal duty, they’re living in luxury and California.”
He explained, “They want to use their royal titles to exploit them for massive financial gain. Without any of the duty that comes with the royal titles. I don’t think you can have your royal cake and eat it. That’s my argument about it.”
Trump suggested their relationship will end.
“So I want to know what’s going to happen when Harry decides he’s had enough of being bossed around. Or maybe when she decides that she likes some other guy better,” Trump said.
He continued, “And I wonder if Harry’s gonna go back on his hands and knees back into the beautiful city of London and say, please. You know, I think Harry has been led down a path.”
When asked if he would remove their royal titles, Trump replied, “I would.”
Circling back to Harry and Markle’s relationship, Trump told Morgan, “Harry is whipped. Do you know the expression?”
Morgan responded, “I’m familiar with the phrase.”
Trump added, “I won’t use the full expression but Harry is whipped like no person I think I’ve ever seen.”
The transcript comes just days after Trump slammed Morgan for attempting to “unlawfully and deceptively” edit the interview, as IJR reported.
Morgan’s promo for the interview appeared to show Trump growing frustrated with him and walking out of the interview.
