Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) is being mocked and criticized over a tweet he sent about women who are against overturning Roe v. Wade.

In a tweet Wednesday morning, Gaetz asked, “How many of the women rallying against overturning Roe are over-educated, under-loved millennials who sadly return from protests to a lonely microwave dinner with their cats, and no bumble matches?”

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) responded, “Republicans like Matt Gaetz are for government-mandated pregnancy, against education, and against cats.”

“You can help on campaigns to decide whether or not he is in the majority this November (assuming he isn’t indicted by the DOJ who is investigating him for sex crimes),” he added.

Meanwhile, MSNBC’s Joy Reid chimed in, “This is revelatory. And let’s just be clear: it’s how most of his party view women: as nothing more than vessels for men’s pleasure and procreation. Getting an education defeats the prime directive of being young, dumb, barefoot and pregnant. Now you see why this guy dates teens.”

How much education is too much for a woman, Congressman? https://t.co/Y6vnBlDhNq

👋 Matt! Senator Tina Smith here, wife, mom of two, grandma to two grandsons. So glad you brought this up! Our coalition of the pissed indeed includes many strong, smart, powerful millennial women—women of all ages!

Oh and I look forward to following your federal investigation! https://t.co/ieleQEsRD4

How many Florida politicians are out here using a tax collector as a personal pimp to procure sex with a 17 year old girl because they’re a predator and gross?

Hypothetically speaking, of course. https://t.co/eVMYUZFb4l

Here we have a member of the U.S. Congress indulging in witless and vulgar misogyny. I assume @RonDeSantisFL and @marcorubio are in full support of his reelection? https://t.co/5hjanQ3xvB

How many of the Republican politicians trying to control women and restrict their fundamental rights are currently under criminal investigation for sex crimes? https://t.co/1sqHXQkNSr

This is how the GOP views women who aren't at home barefoot, pregnant, fetching their MAGA cavemen a sanmmich after he just came home from banging his teenage mistress in the front seat of his truck flying a Confederate flag. https://t.co/QhnCHmBE4O

Gaetz’s tweet comes after Politico published a report based on a leaked draft of an opinion that appeared to indicate the Supreme Court would overturn Roe v. Wade.

President Joe Biden called it a “really a radical decision” if it holds.

He continued, “The underlying premise — and again I’ve not had a chance to thoroughly go into the decision — but it basically says all the decisions relating to your private life — who you marry, whether or not you decide to conceive a child or not, whether or not you can have an abortion, a range of other decisions, how you raise your child — what does this do?”

“Does this mean that in Florida, they can decide they’re going to pass a law saying that same-sex marriage is not permissible? It’s against the law in Florida. So, it’s a fundamental shift in American jurisprudence,” Biden suggested.
