Amber Heard is speaking out for the first time since a jury sided with her ex-husband in his defamation trial against her.

NBC News’ Savannah Guthrie asked Heard during an interview if she blamed the jury.

“I don’t blame them. I actually understand. He’s a beloved character and people feel they know him. He’s a fantastic actor,” Heard said.

Guthrie responded, “Their job is to not be dazzled by that. Their job is to look at the facts and the evidence and they did not believe your testimony or your evidence.”

Heard explained, “Again, how could they after listening to three and a half weeks of testimony about how I was a noncredible person not to believe a word that came out of my mouth.”

Additionally, Heard told Guthrie she does not “care what one thinks about me or what judgments you want to make about what happened in the privacy of my own home, in my marriage, behind closed doors.”

She continued, “I don’t presume the average person should know those things.”

According to Heard, she does not “take it personally.”

She added, “But even somebody who is sure I’m deserving of all this hate and vitriol, even if you think that I’m lying, you still couldn’t look me in the eye and tell me that you think on social media there’s been a fair representation. You cannot tell me that you think that this has been fair.”

The full interview will air on “Today” Tuesday and Wednesday. It will also air on “Dateline” Friday.

A spokesperson for Heard issued a statement to CNN accusing Johnny Depp’s team of blanketing “the media for days after the verdict with numerous statements and interviews on television, and Depp himself did the same on social media.”

The statement continues, “Ms. Heard simply intended to respond to what they aggressively did last week; she did so by expressing her thoughts and feelings, much of which she was not allowed to do on the witness stand.”

Last week, Depp joined TikTok and expressed his appreciation for his fans and their support.

“To all of my most treasured, loyal and unwavering supporters. We’ve been everywhere together, we have seen everything together. We have walked the same road together. We did the right thing together, all because you cared,” he wrote.

Depp added, “And now, we will all move forward together. You are, as always, my employers and once again I am whittled down to no way to say thank you, other than just by saying thank you. So, thank you. My love & respect, JD.”

The jury awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages while Heard was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages and nothing for punitive damages.
