Dr. Anthony Fauci has tested positive for COVID-19.
Fox News’ Trace Gallagher reported on Wednesday, “Dr. Anthony Fauci has now contracted Covid.”
He continued, “That announcement just coming in from the National Institutes of Health where he is of course the director. The statement reports that Dr. Fauci is currently experiencing mild symptoms.”
Gallagher noted Fauci is 81-years-old and has been fully vaccinated and boosted twice.
“Remember, this was a disease of the unvaccinated — well, even the vaccinated, we know now, can spread COVID,” Gallagher said.

Additionally, the statement said Fauci would “isolate and continue to work from his home.”
It continues, “Dr. Fauci will follow the COVID-19 guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and medical advice from his physician and return to the NIH when he tests negative.”
Earlier this year, Fauci predicted the Omicron variant will “ultimately find just about everybody,” but pointed out Americans who are vaccinated and boosted will do “reasonably well” in fighting it.
Fauci was expected to appear alongside of other top federal health officials before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee on Thursday to give an update on the government’s response to the virus.
In January, President Joe Biden claimed this is the pandemic of the unvaccinated.
“There is no excuse — no excuse for anyone being unvaccinated,” Biden said while delivering remarks from the White House.
He continued, “This continues to be a pandemic of the unvaccinated. So we got to make more progress.”
The president told Americans they can protect themselves, adding, “And you should protect yourself, quite frankly. Get vaccinated, get boosted. There are plenty of booster shots. Wear a mask while you’re in public.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention noted in December 2021 it “expects that anyone with Omicron infection can spread the virus to others, even if they are vaccinated or don’t have symptoms,” as Fox News reported.
Biden acknowledged even the fully vaccinated can “still get COVID-19.”
Still, he said it is “highly unlikely” that they will become “seriously ill.”
