A camper captured an encounter he had with a crab carrying a knife in Japan.
Kyle King first posted the video to TikTok.
It was later shared to Twitter by ABC News.
King started recording inside his tent, saying, “Something’s out there. What the hell is that?”
He then walked out of the tent and approached a crab holding onto his knife.
“Hey bro, hey bro, hey bro, I need that knife,” King said.
He continued, “Really curious what you think you’re going to do with that.”
King proceeded to grab the knife from the crab.

The New York Post pointed out it is a coconut crab.
The creature can weigh in at up to 9 pounds and reach a length of 3 feet, as the Post reported.
Additionally, it is also considered the “robber crab” as it has been known to steal anything it can grab onto.
In the comment section of the TikTok video, King joked, “He had plans for that knife.”
He responded to another user, saying, “If he’d been a little quieter he would have escaped with my steak knife.”
When asked where he was, King replied, “Okinawa…they come out at night.”
One user commented, “I’m confused, you left your knife OUTSIDE the tent?”
King responded, “Yes…didn’t think there was anything on the island that would steal it,” with a laughing emoji.
In another comment, King explained he picked his phone up “for the flashlight…started recording cuz I knew something was out there.”
King captioned his video, “Lucky to be alive.”
