The FBI raided Trump’s resort earlier this week as part of an investigation into how he handled presidential documents.
Republicans are calling on the Department of Justice to explain its reasoning behind the raid.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said if Republicans take back the House, they will investigate the department.
“I’ve seen enough. The Department of Justice has reached an intolerable state of weaponized politicization,” McCarthy said in a statement.
He added, “When Republicans take back the House, we will conduct immediate oversight of this department, follow the facts, and leave no stone unturned.”
Concluding his statement, McCarthy told Attorney General Merrick Garland to “preserve your documents and clear your calendar.”

FBI Director Christopher Wray reported that some on Twitter made threats against him and other law enforcement officers following the raid.
“I’m always concerned about threats to law enforcement,” Wray said.
He added, “Violence against law enforcement is not the answer, no matter who you’re upset with.”
Wray said the threats were “deplorable and dangerous.”
According to Insider, an informant reportedly tipped off authorities that classified government documents might have been stored improperly at Trump’s resort.
Axios noted that the Trump world believes a close aide or aides has “flipped” and spoke to the FBI about information on the former president.
