Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) was targeted by a “swatting” incident due to her views on transgenderism, according to a report.
On Wednesday morning, the Georgia Congresswoman tweeted, “Last night, I was swatted just after 1 am.”

I can’t express enough gratitude to my local law enforcement here in Rome, Floyd County.
More details to come.
Greene’s tweet refers to the practice of “swatting,” which Cambridge Dictionary describes as “the action of making a false report of a serious emergency so that a SWAT team (a group of officers trained to deal with dangerous situations) will go to a person’s home, by someone who wants to frighten, upset, or cause problems for that person.”
The Rome News-Tribune reported, citing a Rome Police Department report, “Rome police officers responded to a 911 call on Wednesday at 01:03 a.m. which led them to initially believe a man who had been shot multiple times in the bathtub at Greene’s home. The caller also stated there was a woman inside the home and possibly children with her. When officers responded Greene assured the officers there was no issue at the home.”
The police report states, “After we cleared the call and went back in service, Rome-Floyd 911 received a call from the suspect, claiming responsibility for the incident and explaining his/her motives.”
“It was a computer generated voice. They explained they were upset about Ms. Greene’s stance on ‘trans-gender youth’s rights,’ and stated they were trying to ‘swat’ her,” it added.
Nick Dyer, a spokesman for the lawmaker, told the paper, “Right now, Congresswoman Greene’s safety is our number one concern.”
“Late last night, she was a victim of a political attack on her family and home. Whoever committed this violent crime will face the full extent of the law,” he added.
Greene shared the story and wrote on Twitter, “If this is the war the left wants, this is the war the left will get. I will never stop protecting children and defending their innocence.”
“We have to immediately pass H.R. 8731, the Protect Children’s Innocence Act, to end the mutilation of kids,” she added.

The incident comes days after Greene introduced a bill that would make it a felony to perform “gender-affirming care” on minors.
The bill states that anyone who “knowingly performs any gender-affirming care on a minor is guilty of a class C felony.”
The Hill notes that it carries a punishment of 10-25 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.
It prohibits over a dozen medical interventions, including certain surgeries carried out “for the purpose of changing the body of such individual to correspond to a sex that differs from their biological sex” for young people, as well as the administration of puberty-blocking drugs, according to the outlet.
During a segment on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Thursday, Greene argued, “When it comes to ‘gender-affirming care,’ which is really child abuse, this is actually an assault, and it’s child abuse.”
Tomorrow, I will introduce the Protect Children’s Innocence Act to criminalize the child abuse that many call “gender-affirming care.”

“This practice should never happen. It’s so disgusting and appalling. And it’s an embarrassment to our country,” she added.
