Twitter users criticized CNN anchor Jake Tapper after he shared an article written by a right-leaning columnist.

On Tuesday, Tapper tweeted, “Zito: Oz cannot out-meme Fetterman, but he can out-work and defeat him.”

He linked to the article with the same title written by Salena Zito, National Political Reporter for The Washington Examiner.

Zito’s article discusses the race between Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman and his Republican opponent Dr. Mehmet Oz.

Some of Tapper’s Twitter followers were quick to criticize him over the tweet.

One follower tweeted, “I mean, obviously a ‘straight news’ reporter shouldn’t be tweeting out this blatantly biased article as essentially an endorsement of a candidate. But it’s just hilarious that dude is out here really tweeting out Salena Zito pieces lol.”

Another asked, “What the hell happened to Jake Tapper?”

Oz made headlines on Monday after he criticized Fetterman’s health in a statement to Insider.

“If John Fetterman had ever eaten a vegetable in his life, then maybe he wouldn’t have had a major stroke and wouldn’t be in the position of having to lie about it constantly,” Rachel Tripp, Oz’s senior communications advisor, said.

The outlet mentioned a moment last week when Fetterman took aim at Oz by sharing a video of him shopping for “crudité” and expressing his frustration with inflation.

Fetterman commented, “In PA, we call this a veggie tray.”

In response to Oz’s comments on his health, Fetterman replied, “I had a stroke. I survived it. I’m truly so grateful to still be here today. I know politics can be nasty, but even then, I could *never* imagine ridiculing someone for their health challenges.”

Additionally, Fetterman’s campaign released a letter from more than 100 of the state’s physicians claiming that Oz has a history of “promoting unproven, ill-advised, and at times potentially dangerous treatments,” as The Washington Post reported.
