A Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate is raising eyebrows for the rhetoric he used while talking about addressing Republican “extremists.”

Speaking on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Tuesday, Ohio Senate candidate Tim Ryan (D) said, “The Democrats aren’t right on everything. And I’m willing to sit down and have conversations about how we can move out of this age of stupidity and into an age of reconciliation and reform.”

“How do we fix all of these broken systems? Some of those answers will come from Republicans. Not the extremists that we’re dealing with every single day. We’ve got to kill and confront that movement. But, you know, working with normal, mainstream Republicans,” he continued.

Finally, Ryan said, “I think that’s going to be really, really important.”

Tim Ryan on supposed “extremist” Republicans⁩: “We have to kill and confront that movement”

Later in the day, Ryan reacted to Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-S.C.) proposal for a national abortion ban.

“Extremist politicians are introducing a national abortion ban today. They want to take away women’s freedoms and throw women and doctors in jail,” he wrote in a tweet.

Ryan added, “We knew this day was coming. We can’t let them get away with this.”

His comments come after President Joe Biden delivered a speech about so-called “MAGA Republicans,” who he said “represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.”

Biden claimed “MAGA Republicans” do not “respect the Constitution.”

“They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people. They refuse to accept the results of a free election,” he added.
