A Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate is raising eyebrows for the rhetoric he used while talking about addressing Republican âextremists.â
Speaking on MSNBCâs âMorning Joeâ Tuesday, Ohio Senate candidate Tim Ryan (D) said, âThe Democrats arenât right on everything. And Iâm willing to sit down and have conversations about how we can move out of this age of stupidity and into an age of reconciliation and reform.â
âHow do we fix all of these broken systems? Some of those answers will come from Republicans. Not the extremists that weâre dealing with every single day. Weâve got to kill and confront that movement. But, you know, working with normal, mainstream Republicans,â he continued.
Finally, Ryan said, âI think thatâs going to be really, really important.â

Later in the day, Ryan reacted to Sen. Lindsey Grahamâs (R-S.C.) proposal for a national abortion ban.
âExtremist politicians are introducing a national abortion ban today. They want to take away womenâs freedoms and throw women and doctors in jail,â he wrote in a tweet.
Ryan added, âWe knew this day was coming. We canât let them get away with this.â
His comments come after President Joe Bidendelivered a speech about so-called âMAGA Republicans,â who he said ârepresent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.â
Biden claimed âMAGA Republicansâ do not ârespect the Constitution.â
âThey do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people. They refuse to accept the results of a free election,â he added.
