Actor Alec Baldwin’s post about cinematographer Halyna Hutchins just one year after her death sparked backlash.
Several users took to Twitter to share a post published by Baldwin on his Instagram account.
Baldwin posted a photo of Halyna Hutchins with the caption, “One year ago today…”
Journalist Emily Miller shared the post, saying, “Alec Baldwin posts that it’s the one year anniversary of his shooting and killing Halyna Hutchins — no remorse, regret or sympathy to her family.”
She added, “(The sheriff’s investigation is still open and criminal charges have not been decided.)”

Another user tweeted, “1 year ago today [Alec Baldwin] shot and killed Halyna Hutchins and today he posted this. Imagine how her family feel?”
The tweet continues, “No justice. No one held accountable for manslaughter. And to add insult to injury he posts this caption. Why are Hollywood liberals are above the law?”

Earlier this month, Baldwin reached a settlement with Halyna Hutchins’ family less than a year after she was shot and killed on the set of the film “Rust”, as IJR reported.
Her widower, Matthew Hutchins, said in a statement at the time, “We have reached a settlement, subject to court approval, for our wrongful death case against the producers of Rust, including Alec Baldwin and Rust Movie Productions, LLC. As part of that settlement, our case will be dismissed.”
He added, “The filming of ‘Rust,’ which I will now executive produce, will resume with all the original principal players on board in January 2023.”
Baldwin’s attorney Luke Nikas said in his own statement, “Throughout this difficult process, everyone has maintained the specific desire to do what is best for Halyna’s son. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to the resolution of this tragic and painful situation.”
Last week, Variety reported the production for “Rust” is still searching for a new location to shoot after it was decided the crew would not be returning to New Mexico.
The outlet noted California is a possibility, according to Melina Spadone, the attorney for Rust Movie Productions LLC.
