The wait for former President Donald Trump’s “major announcement” is over, it is really something.
In a post on his Truth Social platform on Thursday, Trump wrote, “MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT! My official Donald Trump Digital Trading Card collection is here!”
“These limited edition cards feature amazing ART of my Life [and] Career! Collect all of your favorite Trump Digital Trading Cards, very much like a baseball card, but hopefully much more exciting,” he continued.
He added, “GET YOUR CARDS NOW! Only $99 each! Would make a great Christmas gift. Don’t Wait. They will be gone, I believe, very quickly!”

The website explains the digital cards are “just like baseball cards, but you collect them digitally, on your computer or phone.”
“All you need is an email address and a credit card to start collecting 1, 10, 20 or 100. Instantly become part of a new league of collectors,” it continued.
Additionally, the site explained each card is “not only a rare collectible,” but it also enters the buyer “INTO A SWEEPSTAKES for a chance to win 1000’s of incredible prizes and meet the one and only #45! “
Axios’ Herb Scribner shared a few screenshots of examples of the digital cards.

It did not take long for news of his announcement to make it to Twitter, where it was quickly panned.
Liberal user Aaron Rupar wrote, “Oh my goodness Trump’s ‘major announcement’ is even more pathetic than I anticipated.”

The revelation of the digital trading cards comes after Trump teased a “major announcement,” which sparked speculation he could be returning to Twitter or naming a running mate.
Perhaps some of Trump’s die-hard fans will love the idea of a $99 digital trading card.
However, the teasing of the announcement and the contents of it are just kind of odd.
Yes, he built up anticipation for this. But it just kind of seems like he built up a lot of attention for something that is not really a major announcement, and thus gave more reason for people to ignore announcements.
