Lindsie Chrisley, daughter of Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley, shared how her parents are spending their last days before their prison sentence.
Lindsie Chrisley exclusively told People that her parents are trying to stay focused on the present.
“My parents regularly say, and I believe they’ve said on their podcast as well, that at this time it’s basically living every day like it’s your last, enjoying the moment, spending time with their kids that are in Nashville,” the 33-year-old said.
Lindsie Chrisley, who has a podcast called “Coffee Convos,” said because she shares custody of her 10-year-old son, Jackson, with ex-husband Will Campbell, she cannot just “pick up and go” to Nashville to be with her parents in person.
“Of course, I’m spending time with my parents over the phone because I also have shared custody with my ex-husband. So I don’t have the luxury of being able to just pick up and go to Nashville and be there until January. But my parents are definitely dedicating their time in therapy and their biblical studies as well as with their children,” she said.
As time draws closer to Todd Chrisley’s and Julie Chrisley’s prison sentence, Lindsie Chrisley said that as a family, they are “adjusting to what is now our new normal.”
Lindsie Chrisley was estranged from her family for years and told Entertainment Tonight in 2021 that she had no plans of reconciliation at the time.
“There will never be a reconciliation. I think that the most that anyone could ask for at this point is for everyone to go on with their lives as they see fit and to just leave the other side alone. But at this point, there will be no chance for reconciliation,” she said.
After her parents sentencing, Lindsie Chrisley was accused of celebrating with her friends after posting a video of them drinking champagne together. However, she explained that wasn’t the case.
“When I got home from their sentencing, my girlfriends were there, had champagne, which is something that we regularly do. This was not outside of what would’ve been our regular norm. Champagne is the drink of choice, not a celebratory drink,” she said.
She added that it was “devastation, not celebration.”
“Trying to navigate your new normal by trying to maintain some sense of normalcy has been very hard,” she admitted.
Lindsie Chrisley is now using this time as an opportunity to focus on family.
She shared:
“I think that we are just focusing collectively on family at this point. We really aren’t venturing far from that. The focus is on family. It is the holidays. They fastly approach. My focus is on my parents, my siblings, and my child and my niece. And I know that if they were asked the same questions, they would say the same answers.”
In November, Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley were sentenced to a combined 19 years in federal prison after being convicted of “conspiring to defraud Atlanta banks,” according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
Their report date is set for Jan. 15, 2023.
