Julia Louis-Dreyfus, star of the show “Veep,” shared what Vice President Kamala Harris had to say about the show.

During an interview with Variety published Tuesday, Louis-Dreyfus said Harris weighed in on how accurate the satirical show about politics in Washington, D.C., is.

“It was incredible,” Louis-Dreyfus said.

She added, “Her husband, the first gentleman, and she told me they love ‘Veep,’ and that it’s more like D.C. than anyone would care to admit.”

Harris previously posed for a photo with the actress and posted it on Instagram, saying, “Great to see you, Madam Vice President.”

Additionally, during the interview with Variety, Louis-Dreyfus was asked about satirical takes on workplaces being too politically incorrect for today.

“It’s tricky. I’m in favor of sensitivity. When people complain about being too politically correct, I start to question what their motives are. I believe in irony and satire — there must be a place for it for a culture to survive — but I also believe in being sensitive and kind at the same time,” she explained.

Louis-Dreyfus noted she has been asked to play her role in “Veep” again.

However, she believes Americans need “multiple years of normalcy in Washington before we could revisit something.”

When asked if a reboot of the show would address something like the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, she replied, “I don’t know how we could.”

She continued, “I don’t know how to make that funny, especially when people lost their lives.”

The HBO show went on for a total of seven seasons and started in 2012.

Louis-Dreyfus faced a health crisis in 2017 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and shared how that impacted the show.

“We had to shut down for close to a year while I went through my process,” Louis-Dreyfus said.

She explained, “Nobody has ever been happier to go back to work. It confirmed for me the critical importance of my friendships with the people with whom I work and, of course, the love of my family and friends. It distilled down what was most important to me in my life.”

Variety pointed out Louis-Dreyfus’ cancer is currently in remission.
