Actor Alec Baldwin expressed his love for his wife after criminal charges against him were dropped. He had been charged with fatally shooting a cinematographer on a movie set.

On Thursday, Baldwin, 65, posted a photo of him and his wife Hilaria Baldwin, 39, to his Instagram page.

“I owe everything I have to this woman,” he wrote in the caption.

He also acknowledged his attorney, Luke Nikas, who represented him in the case.

“And to you, Luke,” he added, in parentheses.

Both of his attorneys, Nikas and Alex Spiro, gave a statement to People on Thursday about the charges being dropped.

“We are pleased with the decision to dismiss the case against Alec Baldwin and we encourage a proper investigation into the facts and circumstances of this tragic accident,” they said.

In October 2021, Baldwin allegedly shot and killed cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, 42, with a prop gun that contained real bullets on the set of the movie “Rust.” Director Joel Souza was injured during the shooting, according to People.

In January 2023, the Golden Globe winner was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter.

Andrea Reeb, a special prosecutor appointed by Santa Fe County’s district attorney, spoke to the New York Times about the decision to charge Baldwin.

“We’re trying to definitely make it clear that everybody’s equal under the law, including A-list actors like Alec Baldwin,” she stated.

She added, “And we also want to make sure that the safety of the film industry is addressed and things like this don’t happen again.”

However, Baldwin claimed he was not the one who pulled the trigger, according to People.

“Mr. Baldwin had no reason to believe there was a live bullet in the gun — or anywhere on the movie set. He relied on the professionals with whom he worked, who assured him the gun did not have live rounds. We will fight these charges, and we will win,” Nikas said in a statement, per the New York Times.
