Casey DeSantis, the first lady of Florida, is reacting to a report about her husband announcing a presidential bid in an unconventional forum.

On Tuesday, Casey DeSantis shared a story that claimed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) will announce a 2024 presidential bid on Twitter.

Writing just three words, she tweeted, “Big if true…”

She followed up with a smiley face emoji.

Fox News reports, “Sources familiar confirmed to Fox News that the popular conservative governor will declare that he’s a candidate for president on Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET during a conversation with Elon Musk on Twitter.”

“Along with his announcement, DeSantis is expected to file paperwork with the Federal Election Commission, which officially launches his GOP presidential campaign. His first national TV interview following the announcement will be with Fox News’ Trey Gowdy Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on ‘Fox News Tonight,'” it added.

The network added the governor will hold a campaign kick-off event later this week.

Ron DeSantis has been seen as a potential 2024 candidate.

And several reports indicated he was planning on joining the race sometime after the state’s legislative session ended.

After he cruised to re-election with a nearly 20 percentage point margin, polls appeared to show the governor was in a strong position to beat former President Donald Trump and win his party’s nomination.

However, FiveThirtyEight’s aggregator of polls shows Trump now leads the Florida governor, receiving 53.5% of the vote while Ron DeSantis garners 20.8% nationally.

An adviser to Trump knocked the report about the Florida governor’s campaign announcement plan, telling CBS News’ Robert Costa on Tuesday, “Announcing on Twitter is perfect for Ron DeSantis. This way he doesn’t have to interact with people and the media can’t ask him any questions.”

Trump’s super PAC, MAGA Inc., has already reportedly spent $15.3 million attacking Ron DeSantis, which is roughly the same amount it spent to boost Republican candidates ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.
