Former Special Counsel John Durham received applause for his response to a warning regarding his reputation.
During a House hearing on Wednesday, Rep. Steven Cohen (D-Tenn.) suggested Durham’s investigation of the FBI’s 2016 Russia probe would hurt his reputation.
“You got no convictions. You got nothing. It was all set up to hurt the Mueller report… to hurt the Bidens and to help Trump,” Cohen claimed.
He noted Durham “had a good reputation.”
However, Cohen shredded Durham’s investigation as he said, “The longer you hold on to [former Attorney General William Barr] and this report that Mr. Barr gave you as special counsel, your reputation will be damaged as everybody’s reputation who gets involved with Donald Trump’s is damaged.”
“He’s damaged goods. There’s no good dealing with him because you will end up at the bottom of a pyre,” Cohen added.

Durham responded, “My concern about my reputation is with the people who I respect and my family and my Lord.”
“And I’m perfectly comfortable with my reputation with them, sir,” he added.
Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) chimed in, “Well said, God bless you.”
Applause could also be heard in response to Durham’s comment.
Durham was directed to investigate the FBI’s Trump-Russia probe in 2019.
In May, he released his findings of the investigation, which stated the FBI should not have launched its Russia investigation in 2016.
