Sam Levinson, creator of the hit show “Euphoria,” paid tribute to late actor Angus Cloud.
In a statement to NBC News, Levinson remembered Cloud, who portrayed Fezco, a teenage drug dealer in the show, as one of a kind.
“There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented, and way too young to leave us so soon,” he said.
The director also spoke openly about the actor’s struggle with depression and addiction.
“I hope he knew how many hearts he touched,” Levinson concluded.
On July 31, Cloud’s family announced the news of his passing in a statement.
“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence,” they said.

His cause of death has yet to be revealed. Cloud was 25 years old.
In August 2022, Jennifer Venditti, the casting director for “Euphoria” spoke about what it was like to interview Cloud on camera “to get a sense of his screen presence,” per Variety.
“He was not what you would expect. He has this rough, street quality about him, but he’s a very sensitive and curious and open person,” she said.
Venditti also described him as “just really warm, and incredible on camera.”
“Very charming, and told incredible, funny stories. There was one question about something crazy you did, and he told this story about him and his friends breaking into a zoo,” she shared.
She added, “The way he told it was very funny. That’s a quality I look for in interviews. Some ability to tell a story that’s engaging.”
