Singer Madonna is back to work following a health scare that put her in the intensive care unit (ICU).

In an exclusive interview with People, a source revealed she “returned to rehearsals last Monday.”

“She’s so happy to be back onstage and is feeling strong. She’s working closely with her longtime collaborators, Jamie King and Stuart Price, to put the final touches on the show,” the source shared, adding this will be her “most ambitious tour ever.”

The source also gave more insight into what Madonna, 65, has been up to since her release from the hospital.

“She enjoyed her birthday in Lisbon with all her kids and close friends. Now she’s back in work mode and focused on the tour,” they said.

The source continued, “This is where she thrives. She loves being back in a creative environment.”

On Aug. 16, Madonna showcased her birthday celebration in Lisbon on her Instagram page and expressed how “great” it is “to be alive.”

“Amazing to Be (sic) able to put on my dancing shoes and Celebrate (sic) my Birthday! (sic) Im So (sic) Grateful. (sic) Thank you Lisbon and to all who made it possible!” she wrote.

On July 10, Madonna posted a statement to her Instagram page thanking her fans for their “positive energy, prayers and words of healing and encouragement” along with their love after her life-threatening illness.

“I’m on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life,” she added.

Furthermore, she informed her fans of her plan to reschedule her tour in North America and “to begin in October in Europe.”

On June 28, Madonna’s long-time manager, Gary Oseary, announced she was admitted to the ICU after developing “a serious bacterial infection.”

According to Page Six, the “Material Girl” singer was “intubated for at least one night before having the tube removed” in the hospital after she was found unresponsive.

Madonna had to be brought back to life and the overdose reversal drug Narcan was administered to her, via an exclusive report from Radar Online.
