The cause of death of late “The Price Is Right” game show host Bob Barker has been revealed.
According to his death certificate obtained by People, Barker died from Alzheimer’s disease. The certificate suggested he had suffered from the brain disorder for “years.” However, it was unclear when he was diagnosed.
“Other significant conditions” such as hypothyroidism, hypertension (high blood pressure) and hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol) were also listed as contributing factors to his death.
Barker died on Aug. 26. He was 99 years old.
His longtime publicist Roger Neal announced the news of his passing in a statement.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce that the World’s Greatest MC who ever lived, Bob Barker, has left us,” he said, per NBC News.
In a phone interview with the “Today” show, Barker’s longtime love and companion Nancy Burnett spoke about the TV icon’s legacy.
“A lot of people did appreciate him or enjoy his work or certainly appreciated what he did for animals. He was aware, of course, of all of that. He was always grateful for it,” she shared.
Barker retired from hosting the game show in June 2007.
In an interview with Parade in 2013, he opened up about his decision to retire after 35 years.
“I did it at just the right time. I was 83 years old, but I was doing the show as well as I had ever done it. And we were tops in the ratings,” he said.
Barker called the widely successful game show “a part of Americana.”
“And I thought I could go out on top. So, I wound it up that year. And I have not regretted it at all,” he continued.
Barker also revealed what he missed about hosting the show.
“People ask me, ‘What do you miss most about ‘Price is Right?’ And I say, ‘The money.’ But that is not altogether true. I miss the people, too,” he said.
