Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) mocked Republicans for launching an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.
“Oh my god! Really?” Fetterman said when asked about House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) directing House Republicans to open a formal impeachment inquiry into Biden. Fetterman acted surprised as he placed his hands over his ears and took a step backward.

“Oh my gosh! You know, oh, it’s devastating,” he said jokingly, as he waved his hands making spooky noises. “Don’t do it. Please, don’t do it.”
McCarthy wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he was instructing “House committees to open a formal impeachment inquiry into” Biden, explaining that “over the past several months, House Republicans have uncovered serious and credible allegations into President Biden’s conduct-a culture of corruption.”
“Through our investigations, we have found that President Biden did lie to the American people about his own knowledge of his family’s foreign business dealings. Eyewitnesses have testified that the President joined on multiple phone calls and had multiple interactions, dinners, resulted in cars and millions of dollars into his son’s and his son’s business partner,” McCarthy said, referencing testimony from Devon Archer, a former business associate of Hunter Biden. “We know that bank records show that nearly $20 million in payments were directed to the Biden family members and associates through various shell companies.”
In anticipation of the Republicans launching an impeachment inquiry into Biden, the White House created a war room consisting of two dozen lawyers, aides, and Biden communications staffers in order to respond to the impeachment inquiry.
