Actor Tom Hanks said he would do any job in order to be given the chance to travel to space, including cleaning the toilet.

During an interview with The Telegraph, Hanks, 67, talked about his passion for space and promised he would help out once aboard the rocket.

“I’ll do all the work. I’ll clean the toilet. I’ll serve the food. I’ll fold clothes,” Hanks told the outlet. “I’ll stow the gear. That way the others could be free to do other stuff.”

The actor told The Telegraph what he could offer NASA while promoting his immersive film "The Moonwalkers." https://t.co/xXoVW3XlCb

“If there was room, I would be the guy that cleans up, makes jokes, tells stories and keeps everybody entertained,” Hanks said. “I’m your man. I would probably sign up right now!”

Hanks, known for his many roles, including astronaut Jim Lovell in “Apollo 13” and “Woody” in the “Toy Story” franchise, is currently promoting an upcoming exhibition, “The Moonwalkers,” that he is co-writing and narrating.

Set to debut on Dec. 6 at the Lightroom in London, “The Moonwalkers” will include stories from NASA’s Apollo missions, as well as interviews between Hanks and astronauts from NASA’s Artemis mission.

In November 2024, four astronauts will depart on a journey to the moon aboard the spacecraft Artemis II.

“Four people on Artemis are going to see the Earth rise over the moon and some of them are going to be a gender other than male,” Hanks said, praising the diverse group of astronauts who will essentially be recreating the journey of the Apollo 8 mission. “I think that says everything about the progress of humankind right there.”
