Actor Tom Hanks warned fans after a dental plan advertisement using artificial intelligence was released in his likeness.

On Sunday, Hanks, 67, shared a screenshot from the video on his Instagram page and told his followers to “beware.”

“There’s a video out there promoting some dental plan with an AI version of me,” he wrote.

He added, “I have nothing to do with it.”

In May, the Oscar winner spoke about garnering “intellectual property rights” and the impact of artificial intelligence on performers during an appearance on the Adam Buxton podcast.

“We saw this coming. We saw that there was going to be this ability to take zeros and ones from inside a computer and turn it into a face and a character. That has only grown a billion-fold since then and we see it everywhere,” he said.

He later added, “Anybody can now recreate themselves at any age they are by way of AI or deep fake technology. I could be hit by a bus tomorrow and that’s it, but performances can go on and on and on and on.”

Furthermore, Hanks shared how far he believes artificial intelligence and deep fake will go in the future.

“Outside the understanding of AI and deepfake, there’ll be nothing to tell you that it’s not me and me alone. And it’s going to have some degree of lifelike quality,” he continued.

He referred to the use of the technology as “an artistic challenge but it’s also a legal one.”

Hanks is not the only one issuing a warning about artificial intelligence.

“Avengers” director Joe Russo told Variety he thinks “everyone should be scared of AI.”

“I don’t know if you’ve heard any of the Drake songs that have been dropping on social media, but it’s here. It’s not going anywhere,” he added.
