Chip and Joanna Gaines revealed that they are in a new stage of their marriage and are able to “see life differently now.”
During an interview with People, the couple spoke about how not only is their marriage changing, but how they are as people are changing. The couple, who is known for “Fixer Upper” and the Magnolia Network, revealed that their marriage was transforming and that they were now in “the second part” of their marriage.
“Jo and I are in this beautiful moment,” Chip shared. “We’re evolving into each other. It’s the second part of our marriage.”

Chip and Joanna explained to the outlet how they are growing outside of their comfort zones. Fans of their television show will remember Joanna as being more consistent, reserved, and organized, while Chip was often seen as more outgoing and joked around more.
“It’s definitely a more real way to live, and so I’m thankful for that,” Joanna said, sharing how she’s gotten into horseback riding and beekeeping and has been living in the moment and facing some of her fears.
Meanwhile, Chip has taken to being a little more relaxed and encouraging, especially with his wife.
“I want to be her biggest cheerleader,” Chip shared. “I’m like, ‘Hey, you go do whatever. My knees are killing me.'”
The couple, who has five kids, also revealed they’ve been keeping busy. In September, the couple sent their oldest child, Drake, away to college, and in October they announced they would be launching a podcast network. At the beginning of November, the couple opened Hotel 1928 after completing renovations.
