A 4-month-old baby survived being sucked up into a tornado in Clarksville, Tennessee.
According to a report by WSMV4 Nashville, Sydney Moore’s infant son Lorde was ripped away from his father during a catastrophic storm Saturday night.
Moore stated, “The roof came off first. The tip of the tornado came down and picked up the bassinet with my baby Lorde in it. And he was the first thing to go up.”
She explained her boyfriend grabbed the bassinet to save their baby and was sucked up into the tornado as well before being thrown.
Moore was in the back bedroom with their 1-year-old toddler. She jumped onto the boy to save him before their trailer was destroyed.
She said, “Literally, the moment I jumped on him, the walls collapsed. I was being crushed. Like I couldn’t breathe.”
Thankfully, Moore was able to safely dig a way out of the debris, and her boyfriend was unharmed, but then they had to search for their baby in the rain, fearing the worst.
“I thought he was dead. Was pretty sure he was dead and we weren’t going to find him,” she said.
But they found little Lorde alive. His bassinet was in a tree and he only had a cut on his face.
Moore smiled and said, “It looked like a little tree cradle. He was just laying there.”
“Those kids are what saved me,” she explained “They saved me from everything and I don’t know what I would’ve done without them.
She later elaborated on her baby’s survival to WSMV , “He’s here, and that’s by the grace of God.”
“I will die for my kids. That’s not even a question. And my boyfriend would do the same thing,” she added.
Everyone in the family survived but their home and car were destroyed. A Go Fund Me campaign has been created to help them as they move on from this miraculous disaster.
