What does one do after performing at the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show? If you are Usher, you get married.

The Grammy-winning artist and his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Goicoechea, got married in Las Vegas on Feb. 11, according to People.

The wedding took place to at Vegas Weddings’ Terrace Gazebo. This is an outdoor wedding chapel that seats 30 guests. Usher’s mother Jonetta Patton was the couple’s witness at the wedding, according to the marriage certificate.

The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Ronald Joseph Polrywka, better known locally as Ron DeCar, the Associated Press reported.

“We can confirm that Usher and Jennifer Goicoechea took the next step in their relationship and did get married on Sunday night in Las Vegas surrounded by close friends and family,” a representative for the singer told People in statement.

“They both look forward to continuing to raise their children together surrounded by love and thank everyone for the well wishes.”

Usher, 45, and Goicoechea, 40, have been together since 2019 and have a daughter Sovereign Bo and son Sire Castrello.

After the game, the pair stepped out together in Las Vegas, with Usher wearing a gold band on his left ring finger. Goicoechea was dressed in an all-white pantsuit featuring an off-the-shoulder, tie-waist jacket and wide-leg pants, while Usher wore a white floor-sweeping fur coat over his black tuxedo, according to People.

Usher’s Super Bowl halftime performance Feb. 11 at Allegiant Stadium included guest appearances by Alicia Keys, Lil Jon and Ludacris. The Kansas City Chiefs won the NFL championship game in overtime, 25-22, over the San Francisco 49ers.

Clark County Clerk Lynn Marie Goya, the head of the county’s marriage license bureau, confirmed that her office issued a license to Usher and Goicoechea last week, according to the AP.

“Naturally they got married in Las Vegas,” Goya said. “What better place than the ‘Wedding Capital of the World?’”

Usher spoke with People about his love for Goicoechea.

“Listen, when you find someone that you know is a great partner, of course it is an honor and a pleasure to be able to share life with someone who wants to share it with you and loves you, who you are,” he said.

“We’ve obviously made a commitment to life for life together because of our children,” Usher continued. “It wouldn’t be odd for us to get married. We already did here. You know what I’m saying?”

“And we’re going to be in each other’s lives until we die, obviously, because we have something to share. That’s beautiful. Our children. But not because of that. I really do feel like I have an amazing partner that I respect,” he said.

Usher divorced his first wife, Tameka Foster, in 2009 after two years together. He won custody of their two sons, Usher V and Naviyd Ely.

In December 2018, the singer filed for divorce after three years together with his second wife and former manager, Grace Miguel.

Melody Willis-Williams, president of Vegas Weddings where the couple exchanged vows shared well wishes for the pair in an exclusive statement to People.

“Congratulations to the Newlyweds! What a great game and Usher’s performance was phenomenal! We were beyond thrilled to host in this epic day for Usher and his new wife. As much as we love, love, this is the couple’s news to share any further details on. We’ll always be fans of Usher! Yeah!”
