Dems Agree With MTG Statement on House Failure

ATLANTA, GEORGIA - APRIL 22: U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene speaks during a court trial on April 22, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia. U.S. Rep. Greene is appearing at the hearing Friday in Atlanta in a challenge filed by voters who say she shouldn't be allowed to seek reelection because she helped facilitate the attack on the Capitol that disrupted the certification of Joe Biden's presidential victory. It’s not everyday people from both sides of the political spectrum agree with something Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) says.

That was until Monday.

The controversial congresswoman expressed frustration over the House of Representatives, HuffPost reported. In addition to her followers, she had some Democrats agreeing with her.

“Our Republican House majority has failed completely,” she said at a town hall event in Georgia. “And I have had enough of it.”

A major issue she had was how “GOP lawmakers caved to Democrats on the budget,” per the outlet.

According to Greene, the bill did not include border security.

But Greene, along with other GOP lawmakers, voted down a “bipartisan border bill,” per the outlet.

This, allegedly, was done on orders from former President Donald Trump so President Joe Biden didn’t have a victory in the House in an election year.

Trump took credit for the bill failing.

This isn’t the first time Greene took aim at the House.

Last month, Greene posted on X, formerly Twitter, and called the House a “complete failure”

Our Republican majority is a complete failure.

We have the power of the purse, which means we can control what the entire government does.

Tomorrow Speaker Johnson is funding the government that has created this invasion.

I’m voting NO!

SHUT IT DOWN!

Regardless of what she has previously said, Monday’s anti-GOP House words hit close to home for those on both sides of the aisle.

Her apparent disdain  for the House extends to Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.).

Last month, she filed a motion to oust Johnson, the IJR previously reported.

“Speaker Johnson has betrayed that by passing three [continuing resolutions] and then forcing us to vote on a two-part omnibus, the second one being today. He also only gave us, I mean, I don’t even know, we had one day basically to read 1,000 pages, breaking the 72-hour rule,” Greene told reporters.

She added, “This is a betrayal of the American people. This is a betrayal of Republican voters. And the bill that we were forced to vote on, forced Republicans to still choose between funding to pay our soldiers and in doing so, funding late term abortion. This bill was basically a dream and a wish list for Democrats and for the White House.”
