An MSNBC guest is suggesting former President Donald Trump’s criminal trial in New York City is a “dangerous situation.”
A segment of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” focused on the trial the former president is facing for allegedly paying hush money to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election, and his behavior in the courtroom.
The New York Times’ Mara Gay noted Judge Juan Merchan “admonished” Trump for muttering during the court proceedings in a way that “could intimidate potential jurors.”
“It’s an ongoing concern, because essentially he’s like a caged animal, and that’s a very dangerous situation,” she continued.
Gay added, “He’s feeling very threatened. He’s out of control, and so we do expect him to lash out.”

Trump has lashed out at Merchan and a gag order imposed on him related to the trial.
In a post on Truth Social on Tuesday, he wrote, “This conflicted, Trump Hating Judge won’t let me respond to people that are on TV lying and spewing hate all day long. He is running rough shod over my lawyers and legal team.”
“The New York System of ‘Justice’ is being decimated by critics from all over the World. I want to speak, or at least be able to respond. Election Interference! RIGGED, UNCONSTITUTIONAL TRIAL! Take off the Gag Order!!!” he added.

The post comes as Trump is already facing a hearing for violating the gag order. As Axios notes, “He referred to Judge Juan Merchan in the Truth Social post as ‘the highly biased Judge in the Soros ‘appointed’ D.A. Alvin Bragg’s Witch Hunt Case.’”
“On Monday afternoon, Trump reshared a video of far-right activist Laura Loomer criticizing Merchan’s wife’s purported work with New York Attorney General Letitia James and former Trump attorney Michael Cohen’s ties to people connected to Trump’s political foes,” it added.
