President Joe Biden is facing criticism for a gesture he made during a rally in favor of abortion.

During an event in Tampa, Florida, Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Nikki Fried blasted the state’s governor, Ron DeSantis (R), for signing a six week abortion ban.

“We come back here to the state of Florida, where Ron DeSantis felt like he needed to run for president, so 15 weeks wasn’t good enough,” Fried said.

She added, “We had to go to six weeks.”

She spoke, Biden could be seen making the sign of the cross, despite being Catholic and the church’s strong stance against abortion.

The gesture sparked outrage.

Brian Burch, president of CatholicVote told Fox Digital, “Biden’s use of the Sign of the Cross in support of abortion is a disgusting insult towards all Christians, but especially of Catholics whom he claims as his own.”

“The Sign of the Cross is a sacred gesture used by believers to bless themselves, ask forgiveness, or to protect them from temptation. Instead, Biden has turned this ancient Christian practice into an endorsement of abortion extremism,” Burch add.
