The Trump family is not one to play their cards close to the vest.
A recent interview by Eric Trump proved just that when he said Black voters were starting to support his father, former President Donald Trump, “in spades,” the HuffPost reported.
The elder Trump was convicted last week of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.
On Sunday, Eric Trump told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo that the guilty verdict has paved the way for “certain segments” of the population to be more likely to vote for his father.
“For the first time, they realize that the system’s coming down, that he’s the victim, he’s the victim that oftentimes some of their communities were,” Eric Trump said. “You see them swinging. Look at the African American vote, right? That’s swinging over to Donald Trump in spades.”
He added independent, Hispanic and youth voters are also gravitating toward his father.
However, critics were quick to say otherwise on X, formerly Twitter, and especially grilled Eric Trump’s choice of words since “spades” can be used as a racial slur.
