Biden Claims He Is Taking ‘Heat’ Because He Named ‘The Black Man’ as Secretary of Defense

President Joe Biden insists he is getting “heat” for naming Lloyd Austin as the secretary of Defense.

But, during an interview with BET, he seemed to forget Austin’s name.

“Look at the heat I’m getting because I, I named a, uh, the, uh, secretary of defense — the black man,” Biden stated. “I named [Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson] — I mean because of the people I’ve named.”

After the interview was recorded, the White House announced Biden tested positive for COVID-19.

Biden has previously appeared to forget Austin’s name. In 2021, he referred to Austin as “the guy who runs that outfit over there.”
