Republican Vice Presidential nominee J.D. Vance is calling on reporters to “force” Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, to answer questions.
Speaking to reporters aboard a campaign plane, Vance said, “I know most of you, I like all of you as people… I think that you guys have got to do a better job at actually forcing Kamala Harris to answer questions.”
“This is a person who’s been the presumptive Democrat nominee for 16 days, she hasn’t taken a single real question from a reporter,” he continued. “The American people deserve to get to know the people who want to lead them.”

He added, “And I think it’s shameful for Kamala Harris, but increasingly for the media that she’s taking a basement strategy of running from reporters instead of getting in front of them, answering tough questions about her record, and letting the American people know who she is.”
Vance’s comment comes over two weeks after Harris became the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee and while she has failed to face questions from reporters.
RealClearPolitics’ average of polls shows she has eroded former President Donald Trump’s national lead, and now leads him by just 0.2 points.
