Singer Taylor Swift has spoken about the foiled terror plot that forced the cancellation of three concerts in Vienna earlier this month.

Swift posted for the first time about the situation on Instagram Wednesday.

“Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating,” she wrote.

Swift added, “The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows.”

The three shows would have started on Aug. 8, but Barracuda Music, the concert organizer, canceled the show run, according to the Associated Press.

According to authorities, a suspect, 19, planned an attack on people outside the Ernst Happel Stadium, the concert venue.

The suspect, who was not named, wanted to use knives or homemade explosives and hoped to “kill as many people as possible.”

The 19-year-old suspect , along with another suspect, 17, were arrested Aug. 6. A third suspect, 18, was then arrested Aug. 8.

In her post, Swift thanked authorities for stopping the terror plot.

“Thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives,” she wrote.

Swift said she waited until this part of the tour was over to ensure everyone’s safety.

“Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows,” the singer wrote.

She added, “In cases like this one, ‘silence’ is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express yourself at a time when it’s right to. My priority was finishing our European tour safely, and it’s with great relief that I can say we did that.”
