A conversation between Tucker Carlson and Elin Musk included the two laughing about what Musk said was a “joke” about assassination attempts on political figures.
Carlson, a conservative media personality, and Musk, a billionaire and ardent supporter of former President Donald Trump, sat down for an interview on Carlson’s online video show this week, per The Hill.
“The Kamala puppet, I call her,” Musk told Carlson. “I made a joke, which I deleted … nobody is even bothering to try and kill Kamala because it’s pointless.”
At this point, both men laughed as Musk went on, saying, “What do you achieve? Nothing. [She’ll just be] replaced by another puppet.”
Musk made a post he made on X, formerly known as Twitter, where he wrote, “Why they want to kill Donald Trump?”
He then added his own theory.
“And no one is even trying to assassinate Kamala,” he wrote with a thinking face emoji.
Two assassination attempts have been made on Trump’s life — one in July in Butler, Pennsylvania, the other in September in Florida.
Carlson referred to Musk’s words as “deep and true.”
“Nobody tried to kill Joe Biden,” Musk said. “Now, some people interpreted that as I was calling for someone to assassinate her. But I was like, ‘No, I was in a rush,’ I was like, ‘Doesn’t it seem strange that no one has even bothered to try.’”
“It’s not worth it, there’s an endless supply,” Carlson said. “It could be anybody.”
Musk has been a vocal supporter of Trump, and attended Saturday’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, the site of his first assassination attempt.
Carlson, a former Fox News host, has used his online commentary program to interview such personalities such as Russian President Vladimir Putin in February.
