SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly said Thursday on her podcast that she would like to see billionaire Elon Musk and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy adopt Argentina President Javier Milei’s governing style.

President-elect Donald Trump announced Tuesday evening that both Musk and Ramaswamy will establish a new Department of Government Efficiency in his second administration. On “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Kelly highlighted how Milei, who is a libertarian politician and former Argentine economist, won voters over in November 2023.

“When we saw Javier Milei run for and then ascend to power in Argentina, a lot of us were shocked by how he spoke and the things he did with the chainsaw that he was going to take to government and [was] highly entertaining,” Kelly said.

Kelly continued to highlight how Milei campaigned on promises to end the country’s rampant inflation and eliminate half of Argentina’s government agencies. Milei has frequently blamed leftist policies for Argentina’s struggling economy and high poverty rates, showing a video clip outlining his plan to dismantle the majority of government agencies.

“So I have friends who are from Argentina, and they’re absolutely thrilled with what he’s doing and he told everybody there ‘We’re in for some short term pain. As we try to get our enormous inflation down. But these are the things we have to do,’” Kelly added.

“Here he is. This is a video for the listening audience of him pulling these names off a board, the ministry of this, the ministry of that, and throwing them behind him. ‘We don’t need it. It’s down. It’s out.’ That’s how I see Elon and Vivek, who are supposed to go in there and Javier Milei our government.”

Trump released a statement on his appointment of Musk and Ramaswamy, stating he plans to have them “slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures and restructure Federal Agencies.”

“I look forward to Elon and Vivek making changes to the federal bureaucracy with an eye on efficiency and, at the same time, making life better for all Americans. Importantly, we will drive out the massive waste and fraud which exists throughout our annual $6.5 Trillion Dollars of Government Spending,” the statement read.
