President Donald Trump returned to Washington, D.C., early Tuesday morning, cutting his stay in Canada for the G7 summit short.

CBS News reported the change in Trump’s schedule was due to “what’s going on in the Middle East,”White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

Trump left for Canada Sunday. He met with officials from Canada and the United Kingdom earlier Monday. He landed at Joint Base Andrews shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Leavitt posted on X, apparently the Israel-Iran conflict, “Much was accomplished, but because of what’s going on in the Middle East, President Trump will be leaving tonight after dinner with Heads of State,” Leavitt posted.

President Trump had a great day at the G7, even signing a major trade deal with the United Kingdom and Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Much was accomplished, but because of what’s going on in the Middle East, President Trump will be leaving tonight after dinner with Heads of State.

When asked why he was leaving the summit, Trump said, “I have to be back early for obvious reasons.”

He then posted on social media that French President Emmanuel Macron was not right in his theory of why Trump was heading back to Washington. Macron brought up the possibility of a ceasefire earlier.

“He has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a Cease Fire. Much bigger than that,” Trump wrote of the “Publicity seeking President Emmanuel Macron.”

“Publicity seeking President Emmanuel Macron, of France, mistakenly said that I left the G7 Summit, in Canada, to go back to D.C. to work on a “cease fire” between Israel and Iran. Wrong! Secretary of State Marco Rubio is also returning to Washington, per a State Department spokesperson.

The situation in the Middle East has been the focus of much of the summit. Trump said he had “spoken to everybody” regarding Israel and Iran.

“I’ve spoken to everybody. Israel is doing very well, as you probably noticed,” the president said. ”I think a deal will be signed or something will happen, but I think a deal will be signed. I think Iran is foolish not to sign one.”

“They’d like to talk. But they should have done that before. I had 60 days and they had 60 days. And on the 61st day, I said, we don’t have a deal. They have to make a deal.” Trump said about Iran. “It’s painful for both parties, but I’d say Iran is not winning this war. And they should talk, and they should talk immediately before it’s too late.”

“I have not reached out to Iran for “Peace Talks” in any way, shape, or form. This is just more HIGHLY FABRICATED, FAKE NEWS! If they want to talk, they know how to reach me. They should have taken the deal that was on the table – Would have saved a lot of lives!!!” Trump posted.
