Republican strategist Scott Jennings and “The View” co-host Ana Navarro verbally brawled Wednesday night over President Donald Trump’s alleged ties to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Trump was told in May that his name was one of many in files tied to the disgraced financier, who pleaded guilty to sex charges in 2008 and reportedly committed suicide while awaiting trial in 2019, the BBC reported. After National Review Staff Writer Caroline Downey reminded “CNN NewsNight” host Abby Phillip about the lack of context in the reports, Jennings jumped in.

“The Democrats are alleging that he is somehow part of Epstein’s wrongdoing. It’s been happening all day long. This is the whole point of this fiasco, is to try to create a narrative and what he calls correctly a hoax, that he is somehow part of this. That’s exactly what they did about Russia and they’re doing it on Epstein,” Jennings said, with Navarro responding with, “If he knew, if he knew that Epstein was preying on underage girls, is that wrongdoing?”

“I don’t know what he knew or not. All I know is they were friends and he disowned him,” Jennings told Navarro, who then said, “He told us that he knew that Epstein liked women on the younger side, girls on the younger side.”

Trump hinted in 2019 that he had banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago, with an attorney for some of Epstein’s victims claiming the deceased financier had assaulted an underage girl at the Florida property.

“That comment and what you just said are two different things, so if you’re alleging criminality, go ahead, say it directly. Say it so we can all hear it,” Jennings fired back as Navarro claimed she was just raising a question.

Trump announced he filed suit against the Wall Street Journal and its owner, Rupert Murdoch, on Friday over an article that claimed he sent disgraced financier a bawdy letter celebrating his birthday.

Epstein had extensive ties to celebrities, politicians, and executives, even after he was a convicted sex offender. Among those who were known to have been close were L Brands founder Lex Wexner, director Woody Allen, and Prince Andrew.
